Junior Rangers

Since the inception of the Junior Ranger Programme, we have had the pleasure of meeting and working with the most amazing young people, whose excitement and keenness to learn about nature has been incredibly rewarding. Drawing from the success of the past 5 years and in order to keep our young rangers coming back for more, it’s now time to give this machine a new shine!

It is our pleasure to present our all new, very unique Junior Ranger programme, in which we have upped the educational value and most importantly, the fun! After all, our motto is “Conservation through Education”!

There are 3 different groups with different topics:

Age 3-6 Years 09H00 – 10H00

This age group specifically adapted to introduce these little ones to the environment. We build birds’ nests and colour-in pictures of animals using natural products.

Age 7-11 Years 10H00 – 12H00

These busybodies spend most of their time on a dedicated mission through the bush. They collect different types of soil and learn how the soil affects the animal life, make leaf boats, create bird hides and make water filters. They will mainly use natural products when these items are made. They will also learn about the ecological role of different creatures in the bush.

Age 12-18 Years 14H00 – 17H00

As these Rangers are starting to look into what they would like to do after school, we think it is important to give them skills that they can use if they were to decide on ta career in conservation – these include firearm safety by target practice with pellet guns, guided game drives and guided bush walks. They will learn how to identify different types of animal species, grass, soil, dung, trees and insects.

We sincerely hope to welcome many more bright and dedicated youngsters to our Junior Ranger group!
